Maribor

Maribor is Slovenia's second largest city, which attracts tourists and visitors from all over. Its visitors are mainly gastronomy and wine enthusiasts, adventure seekers, and people looking for either a relaxing vacation or a more sport-oriented one. The city itself is located amidst vinegrowing Pohorje hills and green meadows, thus offering many wine and gastronomy pleasures as well as possibilities for sport and recreation.

Its city centre offers a wide array of cultural events and sightseeing. A stoll along the left Drava river bank takes you to the oldest part of Maribor, called Lent. The latter is favouf for its annual festival and attractions such as towers, the remains of the city walls, and of course the world's oldest vine. The confirmed age is over 400 years, which won it a place in the Guiness Book of Records. It grows in front of the Old Vine House, where the visitors can learn all about winemaking and winegrowing in the Štajerska Region.
